TRENDS reviews publications every month about pediatric palliative care. It then shares a short citation list with this growing community through our newsletter. With each list we include a commentary from an expert in the field. This is to help bridge the gap between research and practice. We feel this focus on lived experience is important to add depth to the publications. These reflections come from clinicians, researchers, trainees, and parent partners.
In 2025 we sent 13 newsletters. This included special editions in Oncology, Low-Resource Settings, and Parent Perspectives. In total last year we gained 132 direct subscribers.
Below is a look back at the lists published in 2025. We share this data in the hopes of informing our readers about trends in our field. We summarize things like top journals, top authors, and top funders. We also create visuals of the network of index terms, co-authorship, and organizations. Welcome to our 2025, Year in Review.
Methods
All the papers included in our 2025 lists, including special editions (n=453), were searching for in Scopus. Papers that were not indexed in Scopus could not be retrieved (n=63), and so we were left with a total of 390 papers for this analysis. VOSviewer was used to create the citation network visualizations and Tableau Public was used to create all other visualizations.
